Andrew is a fabulous host and couldn't do enough for us to ensure that we had a great stay. The lodge is comfortable, with many amenities offered to us so we didn't have to sit around in our rooms. The breakfast and the cappuccinos - excellent!

I only stayed for a night but I felt very welcome. Waterstone's manager arranged for an early check-in and was extremely helpful throughout my stay. The facilities are modern, clean and convenient to Somerset West and Stellenbosch.

We arrived fairlly late at night off a delayed flight so were glad to have acc oomodation. however, I didnt get the impression that the room had been freshly cleaned or checked before our arrival. There was a proliferation of dead insects (beetles of some description) on the floor on in the bathroom. There was also a large clump of someone else's hair on the bathroom floor. The towels were stained and not thick and luxurious as one would expect of a property with an "exceptional" rating. It certainly did not live up to its rating. That being said, the ebd was comfortable and breakfast was good.

What a gem! Andrew and Charmaine are wonderful hosts, so friendly, and helpful with tips about restaurants in the area, and more. The guesthouse is wonderful. The furnishings, fixtures and fittings are modern and functional. The bed was comfy. The room amenities included a safe, small fridge, AC, TV and coffee/tea station. The bathroom was well appointed. The toiletries are top class. Breakfast (cooked to order) was delicious. All in all, a great experience. Easy to recommend. Thanks guys!

A Very Enjoyable Visit

The hospitality at the Waterstone is top notch. We were greeted by Charmaine, who got us settled and made sure everything was taken care of on our arrival. The next morning we had breakfast out in the garden and pool area. Everything was fresh and delicious, in beautiful surroundings. Load shedding hit during breakfast hours, but Charmaine managed to keep the kitchen running and no one went without hot coffee or toast! Definitely a well run operation. I would recommend the Waterstone for a great stay in Somerset West.

Very well appointed Lodge. Room was beautiful and very clean. The location was perfect for us. The host very friendly. The only aspect that needs improvement is the breakfast quality. Only bread for toast is offered. Cold meats and cheese were not very good. One other aspect I would like to point out is that the offer for marmalade was not good. Only one of the three offered was good. The other two were not. Their smell wasn’t good.

Perfect and friendly accommodation. Modern equipment (e.g. large TV, Nespresso coffee machine). Very flexible and accommodating when I arrived early and managed a room nevertheless. Highly recommended.

We booked out three rooms. Each was thoughtfully decorated, well appointed. And exceptionally clean. The grounds of the property are welcoming and relaxing with a nice pool and lovely garden.
