I cannot say enough great things about this hotel - simply amazing. The rooms are beautiful. The staff will go to any length to make you feel welcome and looked after. The grounds are beautifully kept, its central and the food/wine on site were incredible. Quite possibly one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at and a MUST if you’re looking for accommodation in Franschhoek!

Unbelievable and amazing stay/experience at this property. Ideally located on the Main Street in Franschhoek so walking distance to most restaurants/bars. The hotel staff were so attentive and lovely they couldn’t do enough for you. Already planning to come back for our next stay

lovely one night stay

We only stayed for one night but wish we had booked more. This hotel thinks of everything, we mentioned we were travelling with a young child and they had prepared a cot for him as requested but also included a nappy bin and a sterliser without us even having to ask. The breakfast is the best inclusive breakfast I have had in a long time and the grounds are beautiful.

The best hotel we have ever stayed in. Above and beyond. The hotel itself is beautiful, well kept gardens and lovely rooms. The staff at the hotel and the two restaurants were fantastic. So well looked after without being overbearing. We stayed two nights and they were so special. Little touches like hot water bottles, printed itinerary and wine tasting went a long way. Couldn’t rate highly enough. Special mention to Manny and Conrad who welcomed us and made our stay extra special.

Das Quartier Francais ist eine wunderbare Unterkunft. Einzig unstimmig ist angesichts des Preises, dass für einen Orangenjus aus der Minibar am Schluss ZAR 30 verrechnet werden.

Another wonderful stay at Le Quartier Francais, the service was outstanding! And such a friendly, beautiful place too. Very helpful with free lifts to local restaurants as well, if you wish to go further afield. Highly recommended.

TheI intetior design is fantastic. Bright bold colors mixed with white walls and sisel rugs. They had radiant floor heating which was great because we were there in the winter. It’s in the heart of Franschhoek which is great if you want to walk around the town. Finally the breakfast which was included was terrific! The french toast which was covered in a fruit sauce, fresh berries and grilled bananas was yummy!

Luxury in Franschoek

It was a wonderful stay in very comfortable accommodation. The staff were friendly, the complimentary shuttle service was very nice, and the wine tasting was lovely. Slightly surprised they didn’t acknowledge our wedding anniversary (we had emailed it through in advance) but all in all it was a great stay.

Great location in Franschhoek as well as beautiful surroundings. The staff is also excellent and breakfast at the restaurant was very nice. Personally, l find the property a bit synthetic and affected. It’s not a classic luxury property but more a newly built and decorated complex that in my opinion doesn’t do justice to the heritage of the region. For the prices charged, I would have expected more. Some other reviews reflect that too. It is more a question of preference and my wife loved it. I would go to a more classic property like Lanzerac when going back to that region.

Dejligt hotel med stort velmøbleret værelse og god morgenmad. Lækkert poolområde. Meget serviceminded personale. To restauranter på hotellet, der begge er outsourcet, serverer rigtig lækker mad, men kræver bordbestilling til middag, hvis man vil sikre sig bord. Desværre ingen lobby- eller opholdsområde udenfor restauranter og poolområdet, hvilket vi manglede.

This property changed hands about 2 years ago and is now part of Leeu Estates which has three properties - two in the town centre and one outside town at the vineyards. Le Quartier Francais has 32 rooms and no longer has its previous boutique atmosphere. Breakfast is in Protege restaurant which is rented out to a third party but Le Quartier Francaise guests have breakfast there. Breakfast is superb - quality of food is outstanding and excellent choice and service. Hotel has a nice serviced pool area but only 16 sunbeds so this could prove limiting when the hotel is fully occupied although we experienced no problems. Grand rooms have a small patio area near their entrance with a table and two chairs but there is no privacy as these rooms face onto the pool area and there are other guests walking by to get to their rooms. The petit garden rooms provide a private garden space. If you are noise sensitive, a couple of the petit garden rooms are troubled by noise/vibration against the wall of your bedroom from air conditioning units or one room close to the kitchens of Protege has cooking smells in its private garden. Protege restaurant is open to the public for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All of the staff are kind, friendly and efficient and go out of their way to provide every assistance to their guests.
