We had an amazing stay! The breakfast was incredible, very well done & a different variety each day. The room we stayed in was clean, cozy, and cool. The owner was very pleasant and kind throughout our stay. We will be back!
The hugh was lovely and John was an excellent host. We enjoyed the breakfast, and the porch! The room was spacious, and we felt right at home. It felt very LGBTQ friendly. We also are at the restaurant Maison Bleue and it was the best food we had all weekend. Would recommend and would stay again.
The Hugh is everything you want in a Bed and Breakfast in Cape May. The owners are engaged, on site, and approachable. The location is perfect, no need to move your car once you park. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast is outstanding. We will be back.
Awesome stay. Great place to stay for convenience and awesome experience. Only thing that could have been better was the bed was very soft. Other than that I would still stay here again. Great staff and hotel.
Charming doesn't even begin to describe it! Our stay was exceptional. From the warm welcome to the cozy rooms and delicious breakfasts, every detail was perfectly curated. Oh The attention to detail, cleanliness, and genuine hospitality made us feel right at home!
Nice boutique hotel (b&b). Lovely stay. If you’re on the level above the restaurant and sleep early, I’d see about requesting the third level for sleeping comfortably and somewhat quietly. It’s an older property so it all makes sense and is nothing the owners can do to really change it. It’s a no frills kind of place so go and enjoy it and the beauty that surrounds it. I provided direct feedback to the owners and I believe it will be taken and applied. Beautiful little beach town!
The quality of service and friendliness of the owners and staff were very good. The hotel had a tiny bedroom for 2 single beds, bathroom very small. Dinner with French chef was superb. I’d go again. Location very good and central. Close to Washington Mall.
Enjoyed the stay very much. Inn keepers were great and the location was close to everything. Very friendly and helpful service. Restaurant was top notch. Can’t wait to return.

The place was lovely. Service great. Have stayed in other B&B’s…missed having a formal gathering place..
Restaurant to away from the hominess of a B&B.
The rooms were simple and elegant- well appointed. The property was stunning - art deco inspired. Breakfast was gourmet. Location was excellent! Would absolutely stay there again!
Beautiful bed and breakfast near everything! Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was fabulous. If you don’t feel like venturing out for dinner, French restaurant in the same location. Would definitely stay there again!
Cape May is our happy place and we found a great new spot to stay. The property is in the heart of Cape May and walkable to all the great spots. John who runs the property is a great. Our breakfast was very tasty. The room had classic Victorian features and the bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend.
We loved our visit at The Hugh. The property is lovely, the rooms are very cozy and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. It is a great location within walking distance to the beach, the Mall and great restaurants. We will definitely return. Stuart and Jon Dubbs
The property was beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. The owners were very caring and helpful. Breakfast was delicious! The only inconvenience for us was the remote parking.
We had an amazing stay at this charming bed and breakfast. The owner, John, went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience, from preparing bicycles for us to offering fantastic local recommendations. The rooms were incredibly comfortable and spotless, and the location was perfect, allowing us to walk everywhere with ease. We definitely plan to return!

No parking, restaurant is right below rooms making it noisy. Hosts held a party until after midnight. Shower stall was extremely small. Would not fit a large person. Electrical plugs had lights so the floor was lit up at nite making it difficult to sleep. No lounge area. No extra security lock on inside of door to room.
Hosts were friendly enough and the breakfast was fine.
