I grew up in Canterbury and while I live in New York, I visit many times a year to see friends and family and have stayed at many different hotels but after staying here a few years ago, I look nowhere else. It’s central location is second to none, the ornate and wonderfully maintained interior character of the lobby, stairways, bar, restaurant, hallways and of course the rooms is meticulous. From the front desk to the house keeping staff, everyone is extremely helpful, courteous and polite with a professionalism they clearly take pride in upholding. The rooms are always very clean, wonderfully decorated, very comfortable and provide all the amenities you could want when traveling. I have stayed here through freezing cold winters and blisteringly hot summers yet the rooms never fail to efficiently maintain an exceptionally comfortable temperature. I cannot recommend staying here highly enough, and very much look forward to my next visit in a few weeks!

Great location for the centre of Canterbury and access to the cathedral, shops and green spaces. Air-conditioning in room a bit noisy, but otherwise room met our needs. Ideally a coffee machine in the room would be better and a mini-bar. What we didn't like was the fact that we had booked a continental breakfast, but you could only order one item from a menu, and coffee/juice and the buffet offered was only cereal and fruit. Not sure how this is continental as would have expected pastries/croissants, yoghurt, meats/cheeses etc.

The hotel is centrally located so perfect to discover Canterbury by foot. The staff are nice and the barman made us a mean Negroni. We highly recommend staying there if you want to visit Canterbury, and make the most if its restaurants and pubs in the evening.
