The staff was really helpful and kind. The neighbourhood was very nice, safe and peaceful. The property outside is not particularly bad but very small. However the room is very run down with broken bed, window, no microwave oven, I had to request a refrigerator. Overall maybe a good place to stay for bachelors but not a family friendly place to stay.

Wonderful helpful hotel staff. They lol out do you and are very helpful. I went to Mexico for surgery and they ensured I was okay. The room was cleaned daily. it felt like family to me. Would highly recommend.

Pool was always clean and enjoyable. Plenty of hot water and AC worked well. No coffee or mini fridge in room. Walls were paper thin you could hear conversations in next room. Main door to our complex slammed closed throughout the night making it hard to stay asleep. Room very dated but clean

If you are a backpacker or budget traveler you already know this place. A clean bed with hospital corners, a small but spotless room and a functional desk and chair. The shower was hot though the room itself was not heated howeverit was air conditioned. It's located a short 7 min walk from the nightclub / turista district. Food is around the corner either by a row of small restaurants or minimarket food that is remarkably good at the gas station a block further down. The staff is friendly and they show appreciation for any efforts to speak their language. This is a good place to experience the Mexican culture close up.

The hotel location looks like a residential area on the lagoon side; however is not far from Presidente Intercontinental hotel, where one can enjoy first class facilities on the beach, restaurants, large pool, etc. To do that you need to pass through hotel lobby to access above facilities. Public transportation toward Downtown is fairly convenient R1 and R2 busses, just 50 cents USD fare. Overall, Grand Royal Lagoon hotel for the budget price is acceptable.

The property located at very convenient location. Easy transportation and close to everything. But the hotel room conditions like the brick wall and ceiling and furniture need upgrade for sure. Also the water pressure for the toilet is very low. It takes lots of attempts to flush. The wifi signal was not good as well.
