Good location close to Canberra CBD and all of the Canberra attractions. The Mercure is clean, comfortable and quiet with a decent quality of guests. There is also secure car parking available.

Beautiful Hotel, walking distance to the war memorial. Lots of history in the hotel. Hotel will need mostly external maintenance soon. Not too keen on the “pet friendly “ rooms and the first people mention in the lobby. Loved the fireplace area and breakfasts. The hotel has a warm feel to it. Can’t fault the garden maintenance. It was a joy to walk through the garden. Loved the daily turnover.

The Canberra Mercure, being an older "historic" hotel makes a really nice change from all the anodyne contemporary hotels I usually stay in. Rooms are smaller than newer hotels, but perfectly comfortable for a solo short stay visitor, and the amenities are everything I needed. Location outside the CBD is also a good thing (though still within 5min walking distance of Civic). More importantly the staff are terrific. I belatedly realised I had left a favourite shirt hanging in a wardrobe two days after I arrived back in Perth. I called the hotel, and within 10 minutes Claudia had found my shirt and organised for it to be sent back to my home address for nothing more than the cost of postage. Great work folks - I'll definitely stay there again on my next trip to Canberra.
