The property is immaculately kept - from the starch, crisp linens, to the impeccable landscaping - the Lake House goes above and beyond to create a beautiful experience for its guests. I enjoyed staying in a king-sized cottage overlooking the canal. I used the small gym in the morning (not much, but I don't think most people work out on their vacation), ate at Rose Tavern, and utilized the shuttle service for a concert at CMAC. I also contacted the concierge weeks in advance to set up a driver for a private wine tour on Seneca Lake. My boyfriend and I loved it! I would highly recommend spending some much-needed R&R away at the Lake House Hotel. It has so much to offer.

I didn't know that Easter weekend was considered off season, so none of the spa amenities (which is why we went) were available. We had to find places off site to get those services. Only one of the restaurants on site were open more than 1 day of the trip. The more pub style restaurant was only open 1 day and they had no openings if you didn't book a reservation. I have a teenager and the only restaurant of the two that was open, was the more formal one and they did not have enough of a variety of options that would appeal to a teenager, so we only ate where we stayed once and found really nice smaller local establishments in the area. While they say you can make a reservation to eat at the restaurants, you won't be able to eat in them without a reservation. Staff was very friendly and helpful, but I wish they had something that listed their off season times, communicated that during off season certain amenities would not be available, or at least provide some services during the off season for people who book at their establishment.

The staff was friendly and it was a unique and cozy place to stay. 4 stars because sadly one of the main things we came for was the advertised all year round outdoor headed pool. The pool was not heated as advertised and it had a cover on it. Bummer as I thought that was a unique offering but aside from that we enjoyed our stay and the amenities.
