I’ve stayed at this old girl many times over the years. The Hollywood history that exists here requires delicate care. I hope the new owners embrace that and carry this place into the future.

The rooms were clean, and the property is undergoing upgrades. I think this is reflected by the current price (which is relatively low) as there was a fair bit of sawing and hammering and some of the things in my room did not work (lamps etc.).

The property is beautiful and the price was good. The staff were quite friendly. The room was large and decently clean. The property, however, has fallen into disrepair such as ice makers don't work, gardens and lawns overgrown, broken tiles on the walks, and many other small but noticeable items. We hope the new management brings it back to its former glory.

Can’t beat the view from the ocean front rooms. With a few updates this location could easily rival Kingfisher. Room was spacious for four adults, but the bathroom could have been bigger and more updated. It was nice to have the sink separate from the toilet and bath. Staff was great and met any requests we had minus the extra luggage rack. Would definitely stay again especially for how quiet it was. Beats the hotels on the island highway hands down,

Staff was friendly and accommodating (Riley checked me in and was great). Room was clean. The exterior and grounds are in need of some work, but during my visit I could see renos were taking place. The area is beautiful and quiet as its a bit out of town. My only complaint would be is that when calling to reserve a room no one picked up after multiple trys. The answering message directs you to call April point for reservations. April point told me they couldn't help me for painters lodge and to email instead.

They were going through a change in ownership so almost all the amenities that I book the stay for were closed (restaurant, hot tub, pier, games room, etc.). Additionally, there was an ant infestation in my room.
