Lovely hotel and the staff namely Stephen was very jovial, plenty of information. We had everything we needed. Lovely cooked breakfast. Couldn't fault anything. Sadly it will be closing in the next month

Had a wonderful stay at the Golden Ball Inn, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. The Inn itself was a lovely place to sit and have a drink.

Superb for a visit to Cambridge.

Delightful small country hotel with bags of character and warm, welcoming staff. Delicious breakfasts and evening meal and we found our room and bathroom very well furnished and clean. We can certainly recommend the Golden Ball- ideal for visits to Cambridge. We hope to make a return visit before too long.

Our 4th stay here and will come again. Evie in the bar/restaurant was excellent, and despite being busy, fixed us up with a heater as the central heating in the bedroom was not working well. Had a lovely evening meal and a very good breakfast the next morning

A very pleasant stay

A very pleasant stay. Good room size which was in good condition with all the amenities you would expect. Large comfortable bed and an excellent power shower. Good quality tea/coffee with branded chocs which was a nice touch. Very friendly welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The food in the restaurant was excellent, tasty, large portions and reasonably priced. Wide choice of breakfast options. Will stay there again if in the area.

A good night's sleep and a decent shower.

Stayed here for one night on a business trip. The pub is closed Monday and Tuesday so it was not obvious how we would get into the place. Luckily, I remembered getting an email with a phone number. The phone was answered immediately and the owner appeared moments later to let us into the building. He was very friendly and recommended an amazing Indian restaurant where we could eat (Lalbagh in Bourn, amazing!) The accommodation was comfortable and quiet although a little dated and would benefit from freshening up however, everything worked and the shower was fantastic. A good night's sleep and a decent shower suits me. The final piece of the jigsaw was breakfast which was equally decent; gourmet, no, but fresh and cooked perfectly.

Loved the friendlyness and that the Proprietor Steven didn't correct me after calling him Peter throughout my stay. Lovely food. Just a little too far from Newmarket for me. But would definitely stay again if my circumstances required it.

Lovely place in a lovely little village

My visit was lovely and really enjoyed the place. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, lots of character in the pub itself and plenty of options for food. Breakfast was included and the food was brilliant. The room was clean, tidy and a very comfortable bed and pillows. The only bad thing that I found was that noise travelled across the rooms/building at times which meant that it was quite noisy. However, at night it was quite. So may need to bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper and affected by noise! Otherwise it was a lovely place and I enjoyed my stay. Will be staying there again in the future!
