Little Karoo Stopover

We stayed here for one night en route to the wine area. Great place to break our journey after driving from Prince Albert, via Swartberg Pass and Cango Caves. Enjoyed a drink on terrace watching sunset over the mountains, before having a lovely meal, cooked and served by the owners. Breakfast on terrace was fresh and tasty too

Oasis in the Karoo

This was a little oasis in the Karoo desert. Andrew and Nell were great hosts and they have a gem of a place just outside Calitzdorp. The rooms are spacious and well decorated, and there is a comfortable lounge and dining area which opens out on to a terrace with a magnificent view of the mountains. The gardens are lovely with a huge variety of brightly coloured birds. Nell's cooking was epic - the dinner we had there on the first night was brilliant and all washed down with wines from the area. We had a great wine tasting and lunch at De Krans vineyard and visited a couple of local art galleries. Great stay.
