Everything was clean and well maintained, and the entire experience felt easy and smooth from start to finish. The staff was kind, welcoming, and always helpful whenever we needed anything. The location was great and made getting around very convenient. Room service food was also really good. Overall, this was my favorite hotel during our Egypt trip and I would definitely stay here again.

The lobby and public areas were well kept and gave a luxury hotel feel but rooms were dated, smell of people smoking was evident in the hallways even though room were suppose to be non smoking, elevators were super slow and not all were running, washrooms bathtub/shower had only half door so you end up getting water all over the washroom floor, I found the front desk staff and restaurant staff to be generally rude and uninterested in providing a good customer experience. Staff that serviced/cleaned the rooms were great and so were front door staff at the hotel. Based on my experience I wouldn’t stay at the Sofitel again, lots of room for improvement.

Great Staff and super helpful. Location is super central but also shielded from noise etc. through being at the end of the island. Breakfast and drinks on the river terrace are great Wessam was amazingly helpful and it is no surprise that he has been at the hotel for years. I always find this hotel welcoming and simply better than other 5 star hotels in Cairo. The hotel is a great credit to the Sofitel brand.

Stayed at the Sofitel Zamalek and overall had a great experience. The room was comfortable and clean, breakfast buffet at $30 was fresh and varied, and the location is fantastic—safe and convenient. A heads-up: airport transfers are now $110 USD, which is way overpriced—Uber is a much better option. Prices across the hotel have gone up, and the online menus aren’t updated, so be prepared for that. Despite that, the service and comfort made it a solid stay.
