Positives: Very lovely and helpful staff Rooms are basic and generally clean Close to Cairns First come first serve parking is available Air condition in rooms works very well Negatives: There was black mold everywhere in the shower grout and in the ceiling of the showers. It is a basic accommodation and you pay as such so do not expect frills. I would not reccomend for singles particularly solo women. The place overall is fairly run down but it does appear that are doing some work on the establishment. No deadbolts on doors. Feedback: Add deadbolts to room doors Upgrade shower extractor fans Improve overall presentation and condition Remove and treat black mold

The room was spacious and accommodated our group well. The stove, TV, and fridge were all working properly. Having two toilets and a bathroom was also very convenient and useful for the number of guests in our group. Secure parking within the property was another positive, although there were not enough parking spaces available. Unfortunately, the unit felt quite outdated and appeared to need better maintenance. The beds were uncomfortable and seemed to be sinking, and the shower head could not be adjusted or moved. One particularly disappointing experience was when we asked for milk and coffee at around 7:00 am. We were told by the staff that no service was available until 8:00 am. Overall, while the unit was spacious and had some useful amenities, the outdated condition, lack of maintenance, uncomfortable beds, limited parking, and poor early-morning service made our stay disappointing.

I thought I had booked an ensuite room, but was checked into a shared bathroom room that seemed to have a reasonably high risk for unlucky things to happen! Luckily, the staff were able to change my room, and the new room felt safer and more secure. However I booked an alternative place for the remainder of my stay in Cairns. The Bohemia had easy access to public transport, and a few walkable eating options nearby. It was very reasonably priced, and had locked front gate entry. For someone on a budget and only staying a night, then it's a good option.
