Absolutely stunning property and am so glad we splurged a bit to stay here. Location is great - so close to Playa Negra and only a short drive from the main part of Puerto Viejo. We arrived in the dark and the street lights around the area are not super bright, so I'm glad that someone was able to check us in because I’m quite certain we would have struggled to find the parking. Our room was spacious and super comfortable. Thoughtfully designed to have a bit of storage as well. We did run into an A/C issue on one of the days, which was a bummer but it was really easy to get hold of the owner and they were able to fix it the next day, Super grateful that all their rooms do have fans (or it would have been a tough night). Bathroom was really well designed and we loved having an outdoor shower.

Lovely property. Few rooms, very zen, quiet except for the howler monkeys lol. There is parking. Louis was super helpful. Suggestion: we felt the room needed more spots to put things on. Maybe an additional console or some hooks on the wall. We would stay here again.

We enjoyed our very short stay at La Bonita Lodge. Unfortunately the airline lost our luggage so we spent most of our day in San Jose buying clothes before heading down to Puerto Viejo. We arrived late but had a nice dinner at Banana Azul and then were able to use the easy to follow directions to gain access to the property and our room. The room was spotless and welcoming. We weren't able to park our car in the lot as it was full but after contacting the host we were told it was fine to park on the other side of the lodge. Communication was fantastic with the staff and I really wish we had been able to enjoy the property during the day as it was beautiful and the pool was very inviting.
