Great in terms of numbers of rooms and arrangement of beds, great sized kitchen and lounge for a big group, nice outdoor space.
Pet friendly and back garden could be secured which was perfect for our dog. Really enjoyed family card games at the giant kitchen table.
Perfect location for lots of snowden paths, copper mines, nice little village for amazing ice cream and a decent pizza nearby.
Parking on the drive a little steep so anticipate a scrape to front bumpers reversing in. Parking in front of garage was great.
Clean kitchen and bathrooms.
Lots of plates and cutlery and cups and big pans - could do with better glasses for the dishwasher that are easier to stack.
Downsides - no food bags provided, so bring your own, no instructions or bin for non recycling rubbish outside,
the bed sheets in the smaller room with single beds did not feel crisp and clean and on inspection were stained, so we swapped them with sheets on beds we were not using, Double bed sheets in one room also did not feel crisp and clean.
Extractor fans don’t work in 2 bathrooms, lounge and porch smelt very damp on arrival but lounge improved as our stay was a week and the heating was on.
Bit of a Noisy heating system if staying in the single bed room
The stained sheets are the thing that took it from good to okay as a rating.
Also tried to contact sykes cottages who you end up booking with once you pay through here and could not get hold of a human and no one ever replies to the whats app messages
