Our stay was very average for such a grand hotel. The room felt like we were stopping in the servants quarters rather than a nice hotel. It was small and basic but clean and we got a good nights sleep. Breakfast was good. Parking here can be difficult if you turn up in the evening and there is a charge. Great location for all that Buxton has to offer and very convenient for the many restaurants and bars.

The hotel was well located with ample parking. It’s a large period hotel which in some areas is looking tired. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful when asking for additional pillows ( only 1 pp provided). The breakfast was good and tasty and plenty of attentive staff if needed. The hotel rooms however are very tired with very poor decor standards. Tiles in the bathroom were miss-matched and grubby and flooring lifting in places. Was surprised to have to pay £5 to park the car as a resident though

Great location and historic site. It was hot and with no air conditioning the window had to be open. The local church bells sound every 15 minutes after 8:00am. Parking is easy but is £5 per day. Not the most comfortable bed but manageable.

The hotel is a lovely old building and was probably once a really grand hotel, and although some of the features still remain, some investment would work wonders. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was good as was our room with the exception of the bathroom which was not good . The tiles around the bath were full of mould, the toilet talk half an hour to refill after flushing. In the main part of the hotel there are many seating areas and a games room, which me and my family spent some time in. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The staff were very accommodating. I couldn't climb the stairs to access my room. The staff at reception changed my room to one accessible although windowless. Didn't matter for one night. That was the only problem was hot in the room but a fan was provided

The hotel has has a recent upgrade and looks amazing. Set in beautiful grounds and walking distance stroll into town. Upon arrival we had a lovely welcome by staff and our room was lovely too. The stairs are beautiful and the facilities and areas around the ground floor of the hotel are really comfortable and relaxing to enjoy. Parking is only £5 for 24 hours and the staff are so friendly and helpful.

We spent one night - a busy Saturday. Our room (50) was quite small accessed by an awkward triangular ante-room. There was nothing to put our suitcase on and in the bathroom no hook to hang anything on. But it was clean and quiet. Dinner and breakfast were OK though orange juice was disappointingly watery. The restaurant manager was good but junior staff were inexperienced.

Last minute room only deal which was very reasonable for a Friday night. Hotel was very central and parking for £5 very reasonable. Weather was lovely so we didn’t get time to use the Swimming pool (which was £6 each). We enjoyed sitting on the lovely lawn area having drinks.
