Very comfortable cottage in the backyard. At first glance from the pavement you may get a negative impression but walking into the separate cottage you will be very happy. We found this to be a safe area as well.

My stay was quite enjoyable. While the building exhibits some signs of age and wear, it has been maintained well. The staff was notably efficient and accommodating. Although it may not be overly luxurious, it is a solid accommodation option.
Lovely welcome when I checked - I have been several times and will certainly visit again

Comfortable stay and a 30 minute train ride to the city centre. Not a 5 star place but it’s clean and has everything you need with friendly staff and turndown service.

The host was great, the surrounding area for meals was great. It is an old building which is apparent.
Burntisland House is rather old, but well maintained. Room was clean and had a lot of space.
Railway station is just a 5 minutes walk, with a direct train to Edinburgh.

Staff were very polite room was clean and well presented The television was poor reception the WiFi was hit and miss could do with a stronger signal but overall are stay was a pleasant experience
The rooms were clean but the beds need to be replaced. I flipped and turned the mattress. Staff were friendly and helpful. The common areas and grounds are lacking in maintenance. Accommodation is expensive in Scotland so you get what you pay for. Overall good value for money but I’d rather pay more for a higher standard of hotel.
The shower was amazing! Room was basic but mostly clean. Had hand soap and bath gel. Smelled like old house and curry. Windows were filthy. Front of house was unkempt. Easy check in. Just ring the bell and they opened the door.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The general view as soon as you walked in was that it was scruffy and needed decorating although the bedroom was clean and a good size and had a nice shower. I suppose for the price it was not bad but you do get what you pay for,
Difficult to check in. No answer to the phone most of the time. Staff lovely.
Walls and doors very thin can hear talking from rooms. People coming back late and doors slamming shut.
Comfortable room. Tea and coffee provided.
Very run down building and needs some work doing.
Close to train station, clean comfy beds, large TV, great shower and tea making facilities, needs some upgrading but overall great value for money.

Wanted a lower cost place to stay outside of Edinburgh. Older building/guest house. Worked great for a budget place to stay while exploring this area of Scotland.
