Tiny room, but adequate. Water pressure was low. Nice pillows, furnishings. Do like to support this owner. Economic in value. Close to amenities.

Room was clean, location conveniently located for an overnight stop. Close to several places to eat. The Gate City Restuarant and Bar is where we ate. Very good restaurant.

Very clean, the beds were comfy, the coffee from the office was good. It's so convenient to stay where you can back right up to the room door. Terrific value, would absolutely stay here again!

Pretty good

Very clean for the price. Very nice, accommodating staff. No strange smells in the room or in the bed which is really nice, usually booking via 3rd party apps gets you the crappy rooms but all the appliances worked well, there were toiletries and clean linens in the bathroom. Not sure about breakfast or where it would have been since I missed it.

The room was clean and smelled nice. The beds and linens were very comfortable. The management was kind and available whenever we needed them. We had a very pleasant stay and would stay there again. The only complaint I heard from my husband was about the road noise. There is a stop light right in front of the hotel and the occasional engine breaks were loud. Even with that, we would stay again because of the excellent value for the money.

The Chief Motel is a great budget motel. Clearly a locally run motel, it was clean and safe. The woman at the front desk was helpful in answering questions and even provided a capful of laundry soap for a load of laundry. Some areas of the motel show signs of age and a few small areas in the room could use a little patching or paint. However, it was clean and smelled fresh. The room was cleaned and towels replenished daily. A laundry mat and car wash are directly next to the motel. There was a cafe across the street. Walmart and HyBee were within walking distance. For those visiting Nauvoo, it's 10 minutes to the Mississippi River bridge and then another 10 minutes to Nauvoo. This is a perfect option for travelers on a budget.

The room we stayed in was great, but the other residents were a bit sketchy, it looked like a lot of folks were permanent residents. We felt bad for our hostess because she was just working there, and she was fantastically helpful.

When we drove up were a bit worried, but it was as nice in the room as some of the more expensive motels. It lacked the litte extras, but we felt like the room was clean and comfortable.
