I’m obsessed with this hotel- and the fact that it’s definitely NOT haunted, but stunning, tranquil, and perfectly located so that neighboring attractions are easy to get to. Take the tour when you stay (only offered on Saturdays and Sundays) so that you can hear about its rich history AND see the closed off portion of the former institution. I would go back here for another long weekend in a minute!

We loved learning about the historical significance of this property. The architectural team did a great job of restoring it and envisioning it as a hotel. Our room was spacious with high ceilings. The staff was helpful. My only suggestion would to have bottled water in the rooms for guests.

My stay was like living in an exclusive European castle. The property near arts and The Knox Museum. Parking is close, the hallways and halls are wide, well lit and filled with real art and paintings. There was even nooks and sittings areas in each great hallway to sit with friends or family.The room was super quiet and everything was new and comfortable. A memorable stay.

The hotel was beautiful the room was amazing and the staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again especially with the price so reasonable. I wish the area was a little better built up. A lot of businesses closed but the grounds of hotel and restaurant inside made up for it. Plus easy drive to amazing areas. Such a beautiful building, a wonderful stay! Great area, clean room, and a nice little museum/architectural exhibition on the ground floor. Only small thing was housekeeping knocked on the door when we had do not disturb, then the next day didn't come when we didn't have the sign up, but overall very nice beautiful room and building and would come again for our next stay in Buffalo. Probably the best value for the area.

wonderful historic building! rooms on the 1st.floor were small on American scale, more french/paris.size but the bathrooms were good sized. the "restaurant" was only serving breakfast and was SUPER SUPER slow. bar was good, great bartenders. food choices.were limited but served relatively quickly.and.super good. there are tons of restaurants on Emerson St. wi walking distance. red hot does a good standard breakfast all.day.
