Vacations Close To Buck Island Turtle Cove

My stay at Windward Passage Hotel was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. I am requesting a significant partial refund because the condition of the hotel and lack of service did not match what I paid for. During my 5-day stay (August 28-September 2nd), I had to change rooms THREE times, which was extremely inconvenient. I also experienced lack of cleanliness through out all of the rooms I was switched to. Photos are attached showing a dirty remote, a moldy/nasty electrical outlet, a dirty bathtub, dead flies on the bathroom ceiling, and stains/buildup on the walls and ceiling. Housekeeping was another major issue. We specifically told staff they did not need to remake the beds or disturb our belongings—we only requested fresh towels and trash removal. Despite this, housekeeping came only ONCE during my entire stay, on the second-to-last day. I was told housekeeping would come in the middle of my stay, but that did not happen. There was also a serious water issue on the 4th floor. The water was brown/discolored and barely worked, making it difficult to properly shower and use the bathroom. I paid for a clean, sanitary room, functioning water, and basic housekeeping. Instead, I had to change rooms three times, deal with unacceptable cleanliness issues, receive minimal housekeeping, and experience barely functioning brown water. This was supposed to be a birthday vacation, but I spent a significant amount of time dealing with problems that should never occur at a hotel

I didn’t have a good stay. While the location is beautiful the service was one of the worst I’ve experienced especially for the price. Some staff were very helpful and genuinely cared but the majority looked and acted like they didn’t want to be there. Asking for simple things was received with an attitude or just indifference. Beyond the bad service the food was extremely disappointing. Being on an island I expected to eat high quality fish and the majority of the time my food was over cooked. I paid $50 for room service catch of the day and the fish was so hard I could barely cut it with a knife. Never in my life have I experienced this low of quality. After my stay here I spent a day a day at the Marriott next door and it was exponentially better! This was a vacation to celebrate being cancer free and it was a complete disappointment. I never plan to visit st Thomas again and it’s largely due to my subpar experience at this hotel. Positive things: gym was great and well maintained, house keeping, swim up bar staff (on certain days)

So friendly.. GREAT location (really close to town) If you are looking for an alternative to the big resorts, this is it.

Excellent place to stay on Saint Thomas. The owners are very responsive, friendly, and accommodating. Clean and spacious rooms a short walk from downtown Charlotte Amalie. This is a small, locally owned "hotel" that has an intimate, relaxed vibe. Easy access and parking.
