Very quaint building with many historic features. Modern bathroom, good shower. Comfortable bed. Staff friendly. Decent breakfast. Good value for money. Only negative was the very tight parking space. Would return.

Our room was clean but rather gloomy. The old furniture was oppressive and the TV could have been fixed to the wall and a more practical chest of drawers to replace the table it occupied. The bed was in need of a new mattress but the pillows were decent and the crisp white bedding was nice to climb into. The shower room was huge, with a good shower unit. However the hot water from the sink tap seems to originate in Bristol, it took so long to arrive. We ate in the restaurant and the food was hot and tasty. We had a steak special which was excellent value. The staff are cheerful and polite and ready to offer help. Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious with plenty of choices on the menu. Parking on site is tight and the entrance might prove tricky for 4x4's and wide cars. Good value for money as a stopover.
