“As a place to stay it was okay. There was no restaurant as it is being renovated, luckily there was a good Indian restaurant virtually opposite. Parking is £3 per 24 hours unless included in your booking. Breakfast was okay but mainly carbs. Would I stay there again probably not”

“Management excellent - as were all the staff. Listed building and would benefit from some TLC as we had expected, but we were allocated a lovely room and had a great stay. Housekeeping standards not amazing - but bins emptied and water replaced. The bar area and lounge/restaurant lovely but the standards dip a little as you head upstairs to the room - just small things like the hand rails grubby. Food wise, we only ordered a pizza (which was clearly a frozen Iceland style pizza) so not the best...

“I keep telling myself it’s cheap and cheerful, and it is to some degree.. but it has a 4* sign as you drive in, and this just isn’t the case. Rooms are run down and have needed upgrading for years. The swimming pool has been “ under maintenance” on the 3 occasions I have stayed over the years, so I just question whether it is ever open. The carpets needed hoovering in the hallways and our room.
