Loved the character and history of the hotel. Loved the architectural feature and the authenticity. I appreciated the helpfulness of the staff and the fact they they are knowledgeable about the history of the hotel and their willingness to share that knowledge. Great place full of a soul of its own, unlike many other soulless corporate hotels. The uniqueness of the Old Ship Hotel should be celebrated and retained.

The location is fantastic, with the beach right in front of the property. It’s also only about a 13-minute walk from Brighton Station, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The only minor issue was that the toilet didn’t flush very well, and it occasionally seemed like the toilet paper might get clogged. However, flushing it a couple of times solved the problem. If you’re planning to stay in Brighton and want to be close to the seafront, I think this is an excellent place to stay.

Fabulous, oldest hotel in Brighton but unfortunately while that added to the charm it also was apparent in the state of the rooms, however, I understand they are redoing them all in the next while. The rooms, although quite shabby looking, were clean & comfortable. Great location

The room was very dated and quite tatty, but it was clean and the bed was very comfy. There was some noise from the street but it was ok with the window closed. This may have been different on a warmer night as there's no air con.

Great location to everything you need for your stay, staff are amazing pleasant friendly and helpful, hotel is in need of a lick of paint and new carpet in some areas, the rooms was big and spacious, bed was uncomfortable for me as it was to soft, breakfast was ok would prefer to order hot food instead of buffet style as there was only basic choices available.
