The only negative thing to say about our stay was that, like many properties in Brighton, the building itself is old and some historic features like the single-glazed sash windows can be a bit rattly and draughty when the wind is high. Apart from that, we had an excellent stay. The room itself was thoughtfully modernised, with a small but functional bathroom which was absolutely spotless. Tea, coffee and milk were topped up every day, which was a nice touch. Location is fantastic - a few seconds' walk from the sea in one direction and the same to Kemptown's high street in the other, oozing with character and full of great independent places to eat and drink. Another 5 minutes' walk and you're in the heart of Brighton's lanes. The true star of the Marine View is Richard, who is the perfect host - welcoming and friendly, never in the way, but always there when you need him. In our case, my wife was feeling a bit under the weather and Richard kindly warmed up some rice pudding for her which helped her feel better. All in all, highly recommended.
