Venn Farm A beautiful old thatched farmhouse on the slopes above the Teign valley. Seen from the lane between Bridford and Bridfordmills. "Probably early C16 origins, remodelled in the late C16/early C17, roof raised late C18. Whitewashed rendered cob and stone rubble; thatched roof, half-hipped at left end, gabled at right end; end stacks and axial stack, all with brick stafts; right gable end weatherboarded." http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/Details/Default.aspx?id=85578&mode=adv . http://www.mit.edu/~dfm/genealogy/sercombe.html mentions that in 1901 a Joseph Sercombe lived here "with his wife Mary, their children Wilfred, Charlie, Bessie, Polly, Joseph, William, David, John, Percy, and Ruth, and carter Frank SERCOMBE (his fourth cousin)".

Field near Lower Hole. The view over the gate to the left referred to in 580852. Woodland seems to have encroached considerably into this field, which slopes to the small stream that runs between the three farms at Hole. The woodland beyond is around Little Tor.
Field boundary near Blackingstone. A gentle low bank suffices as a field boundary between these fields by the lane shown in 1291130.
Meadow in the Teign valley In its deeply incised meandering course, the valley contains level areas of flood plain, and this tempting meadow has obviously been used for outdoor activities. To the left rises St Thomas Cleave Wood.

The unnamed wood on the right, which straddles a northing gridline, contains the source of a small stream which feeds into a leat in Bovey Tracey.
