“We stayed in Hoopoe Cottage. While I appreciate that Barton is under new ownership, our experience was disappointing. Before we even arrived, our booking had been incorrectly recorded for the wrong day (fortunately my husband phoned to confirm). “We had a lovely stay and the staff were great. In the off season (early June) things seemed a bit sparse for our family time. We had hoped the “two playrooms” and outdoor activities advertised would be full of options for a getaway, but they were drab and had just a few options functional and required a small cost.
