Wonderful & cozy stay! Everything was clean, neat & host was generous to provide a good variety of food for breakfast. Those staying second floor there’s slight steep stairs thus lesser luggages would be good. Location was easy to find with Google Maps. Overall a pleasant stay. Thank you!
Unique and memorable stay in the old postman’s house. Each room had its own charm, and the host (who was super lovely during our check in) was nice enough to upgrade us to a room with a private bathroom. It’s only a short drive from the west peninsula and Borgarnes, and would highly recommend for anyone driving through the area.
Checkin was quick. Access to shared kitchen was nice room was small but cozy. Bed very comfortable. Perfect for our one night stop over. Nice to have two shared bathrooms with showers.
This 1898 home has been remodeled to incorporate sinks in each room. Outstanding food available for self serve. Period furniture except for the great beds! Would happily stay again!
This is a former Postmans Station House near Borgarnes. Lovingly renovated according to plans and photos. I was the only one there and I loved everything about it! The breakfast was self-serve and abundant. There is a Bonus and Netto in town if you want to make your own dinner. Be aware there is no microwave. My room included an enSuite, a table and chairs, and multiple beds (I only used the single twin). I spend three nights, which was enough to go to explore the area and take a few hikes. Loved staying here!
Beautiful, quiet space. There were a plethora of breakfast options. An excellent space to see the Northern lights. Anna was very thoughtful with the icelandic sweaters (soooo warm!!) And slippers. Fantastic stay
We chose this location for access to Snæfellsbær Peninsula and price. An old farmhouse converted so the rooms are small and the floors creak with age. The house has great character. Kitchen is well equipped with basics and the breakfast provided (help and make yourself) was varied and plentiful. Beds were comfortable. Great for a short stay. We stayed two nights.
Incredibly cute house and very nice property. Nice to have access to kitchen and dining area. It is however an incredibly old house, which means you can hear everything - made us very aware of any noise we made - talking, walking, etc. Very glad we stayed here as was a very unique property, just something to keep in mind as felt very aware of any sounds we made.
This was the perfect place for us to stay. We needed a room for a night after a long day's travel, and this was a quiet place with comfortable beds. I fell asleep the moment my head hit the pillow, and woke up refreshed after the sleep.
There would have been self service breakfast, but we needed to get going early, so we didn't check it out.
This was idyllic! It was like something out of a storybook. Warm Icelandic sweaters to wear welcomed us along with slippers. There was lots of good food provided too. The house is historical, charming and like stepping back in time. My son and I absolutely loved it!
Really liked this guest house. Of the many I stayed in while traveling Iceland, this house had the most character. It's located up a side road, so it feels very quiet, but the interesting town of Borgarnes is quite accessible. Well equipped kitchen and good simple breakfast supplies. I didn't meet any staff, but communication was fine online. A great find overall.
We loved this place. We were able to see the northern lights from our bed through the window. Everything is so well preserved and curated. Breakfast is better than the picture because you can also take things from the fridge like eggs, yogurt, cheeses, juices, etc.
Keep in mind that it's a self service house so you won't have anyone to immediately support in case anything pops up but the owner will share her number once you book.
Very nice accommodations in a cute historic house. The host leaves a full refrigerator and countertop full of breakfast food that you can make. Bargain priced for Iceland. It suited our family of 3 quite nicely. Like all hostel type accommodations, some of the baths are shared and having earplugs is a good idea. For Iceland you should also have an eye blackout mask.
Restored farmhouse on the outskirts of town. Beautiful area. House has four or five rooms and ample parking for all guests. A lot of the breakfast items had been finished (things like a tablespoon of skyr left in the tub) but overall the breakfast items provided were decent. The house is lovely and the rooms are really nice. But it isn't (as I was led to believe on hotels.com) a hotel. It's more like an air B&B

Shower was backed-up. Maintaining the style of the original house was an interesting touch and made for a unique experience.
