The beds were exceptionally comfortable and clean. The rooms were a little dated but the main areas of the hotel we model and smart. One of the nicest breakfasts I have had and the food for the evening was of a high standard. All staff were really helpful and friendly.

Management need to plan better

We used this hotel for a reunion of about 35 people. Also booked in was a wedding party. Both the Fri and more so on Saturday they ran out of most of draught beers and lagers! Having to mix our drinks is not good. Lack of planning by management. Staff behind the bar were excellent and apologetic even though it was not their fault. Very disappointed on that aspect of the service.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Mercure Bolton - room was pleasantly comfortable and well worth paying slightly extra for a Privilege room, breakfast was well presented with good choice of hot and cold food, all staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a good position and all it needs is a bit of TLC throughout to modernize the look and feel. Overall, we would return.
