The room was lovely, the bed was a good size and the bathroom looked new, great shower with plenty of natural light. The breakfast was good and provided a good start to the day. The restaurant was very good, the quality of the venison was excellent, prices were very reasonable, the spa was one of the best we have been to. A large pool and very well equipped gym. The location was great and not far from Bolton. The staff were friendly and always helpful. Overall we would recommend the hotel.

Really nice location. Plenty of parking. Room was nice and clean, bed comfy everything as expected really. Spa facilities were great, generous time slots and staff helpful. Only thing was the lockers in the changing rooms need some money spending on them, they not great. There’s a pub and a cake shop on site and a few other artisan type shops. Would definitely go back.

The staff were amazing, everyone I met were friendly helpful and pleasant. Whilst the bedroom was clean and the bed comfy I was a bit disappointed that the carpet had seen better days and there was a fair amount of dust on the shelf of the wardrobe which I removed before using. In fact, there was a lot of dust all over the wooden surfaces that I went past. I took advantage of the Drop Inn and the Bakehouse, both served delicious food.

I have stayed here a few times the facilities are good the menu doesn't set the world alight but its ok, breakfast is fairly basic, the coffee needs more coffee and the staff need to interact with the guests more - no eye contact no good mornings as they pass the service is perfunctory, the spa gym team were friendly and chatty but the bar and restaurant staff definitely need some customer service refreshers.

Cleanliness excellent. Spa and pool excellent. Restaurant menu has changed and for me was disappointing. Lots of steak choices. No salads rice or pasta dishes which I expect were on the bar menu. Unfortunately the bar has a TV on 24/7 so not an ideal alternative to the restaurant unless you can eat outside. Overall a lovely stay. For me the restaurant was the only disappointment..but that's a personal view from someone who has stayed for the past 6 years
