At first sight, the area seemed a little gritty. But once we walked around, we realized we were in a very good area to find a great place for a breakfast pastry and a morning latte. At night, there was a boisterous beer hall right across the street from the location which was an added bonus! The hotel staff were phenomenal. So helpful, so personable, I would recommend this hotel and stay here again. Also, Bologna was a wonderful city to visit enroute to Tuscany. We were only here for a night, but it was a wonderful night, indeed.

This was in our 1 week journey in Italy the best hotel!! The room was perfect and the location too! The breakfast was also perfect. What a service. We even liked the Bed/matras so much we asked about the brand. They could not found it unfortunately haha (still waiting). It was our first stay in a mariott hotel too. Mariott will be our favorite in the future.

Ok for the price

Very nice hotel which is modern and clean. However, the AC in the room is basically non-existent. The heat was actually on when we checked in despite it being 33 degrees outside. We didn’t feel any cold air blowing out. The free wifi is quite slow and lags often. The TV had one English channel.

Hotel is quite nice. Decent rooms. Nice bathroom and amenities. But don’t be fooled this is a solid 20-25 min walk into the city area. It’s also in a real dead zone. Nothing great around the area. Cabs are about $15 USD each way so probably worth spending a bit more and not having to cab it. Especially if staying in cold/rainy weather. Not a safe walk either. Would not recommend for solo female travellers.

Not bad, but unlikely to return

While on the whole there was nothing terrible about this stay, being our only stay at a Marriott hotel on our 20day tour of Europe I was really disappointed with the tired condition and relatively poor cleanliness compared to the Accor and NH hotels we stayed out, especially being our second most expensive hotel. The service wasn't bad but nothing special either. Just a little bit disappointing

We checked in and had to leave because the room had no AC it was boiling hot. We asked porter to fix it and his solution and the front desk was to place it on heater and just let the fan air blow. Then our window popped open on its own as it was broken and across the street there was a refugee tent city with walls covered with very angry graffiti messages. We travel all over the world and live in a large city. Graffiti doesn’t typically scare me. We felt so creeped out we left and booked another hotel for the night.
