Wonderful stay, highly recommended. The owners are a very kind and welcoming family who helped us with everything, from tours to arranging our bus. Free bicycles are available for guests, and the location right by the river is beautiful, peaceful and you can also swim there. The internet was reliable for working online and video calls, with an amazing view. We liked it so much that we stayed longer than originally planned

The service was impeccable. We stayed there when a typhoon went through. The owner while staying up all night monitoring thé facility still checked our train schedule at 5am to ensure that it had not been cancelled and updated us of the delays, ordered our taxi and had breakfast packed to go.

Incredibly good value for very clean accommodation. It is a couple of km outside the main area of Phong Nha, but otherwise great. And the owner offered competitive travel to and from the airport/train station and even to Paradise Cave.

Excellent hotel. lived up to the picture's expectations. I had a breathtaking view of the landscape. The staff was phenomenal and friendly. Mr. Ha was extremely helpful in assisting me with a tour company and which cave would suit me. Mr. Ha. and his wife and kids are warm and friendly. Thanks for looking out for the scooter and dropping off my USB charger at the bus stop.

This was my groups favourite accommodation while in Vietnam! The rooms are spacious, well kept, and clean. The owners are what really makes this stay special. They went above and beyond, offering to arrange a taxi pickup at 3am and driving us around Phong Nha at a competitive rate. The bungalow is in a great location, it felt very safe and is walking distance from the main street. The food was also amazing, the included breakfast is delicious and we decided to have dinner at the bungalow both nights because it was so good! I would absolutely love to stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Phong Nha!

Walking distance from Oxalis and owner was very understanding of caving adventures, assisted with our laundry over night and the lodge has riverside views, was clean and had comfortable bed. Easy to coordinate a ride with the staff there or using grab or town is about 20 min walk away with stops to eat and watch the river along the way. They offer food for all meals and the breakfast was good, cooked to order :) I would stay here again. Plus everyone in town told me they know the owner and are good friends

The staff at Carambola Bungalow were amazing. They went above and beyond by asking someone to pick us up at 4am and bring us to the place we were staying. The location was beautiful, service was great, and food was awesome. Would stay here again.

ROOM WITH A VIEW

Ok so it wasn’t perfect but it WAS very enjoyable. Room 6 overlooking the river was fantastic. The mountains are beautiful along the river. The staff here is great from the owners to all the staff. The language barrier was a bit of an issue even with google translate and we often didn’t get exactly what we ordered at meal time but everything was delicious. The owner was great to organize everything I needed from taxis to a private guide to the caves. I would return here in a heartbeat and highly recommended.

Highly recommend this stay as it was a lovely atmosphere, well maintained and great service from the family running it. It looked much better than others in the area, its a bit out of town but thats the attraction and its easy to get a cab or ride into town. dining options around this area are a bit limited but the restaurant service on site is pretty good. If your here for the outdoors, this is a great choice. highly recommended.

We stayed at Carambola for one night, after our two-day trek with Oxalis tours. It was perfect. The location is very close to the tour company, and the hospitality and friendliness of Ha and his family was genuinely warm. Rooms are super comfortable. Food is delicious. Perfect place to rest and regroup while traveling and after a long hike. Thank you, Ha!

Beautiful property on the river. We stayed in the river facing bungalow. Woke up to a beautiful view everyday. There is not much around but they had all the necessities. One night we walked into town to have dinner, only about 1km away. We were able to rent a scooter directly from property which was very convenient. The owner organized everything for us, in terms of getting to property, tours and then a drive to airport. It was fantastic! They have a restaurant on site where we had dinner and breakfast. Food was excellent!

The owner of the property had a drunken party on the deck below our bungalow. It went on from 8pm until 2am. We did not sleep. There is hot water for about 1 minute. The bed sagged and was really old. This is a run down hostel. It shouldn’t be on Expedia. We left 2 nights early but paid for 4 nights
