The Anglican village church, St. Andrew's (designed by Edward Buckton Lamb) in the parish of Fewston in Blubberhouses, #NorthYorkshire, #UK. The church dates from the 1850's, built in the Modern Gothic style. In July, 2014, Stage 2 of the #TourdeFrance passed through #Blubberhouses, situated in the south of the #YorkshireDales national park. Heading into the second main drop, River Washburn. There are a lot of fast rapids, tight breakouts and small drops on the Washburn, used by canoeists on scheduled dam releases, which put water down this small river at a level equivalent to a natural spate. This weir and the following drop are the biggest, and experienced paddlers tend to break out of the main flow between the two, often to play on the stopper wave of the first drop. This paddler has just broken back in from the eddy on the right of the photo and is turning to run down the centre of the chute of the second drop, which has a big wave train, but no playable wave. This is the spot where 'Jim' hits the water in the Rosemary & Thyme tv episode "The Memory of Water" (2004).
