Great Staff, Great breakfast ( too much for me ) great room all except the bed ( a bit on the springy side) we flipped it over then it was fine , all in all a very enjoyable stay!!
Amazing halloween trimmings!
A wonderful 3 nights at the Royal Oak in Knaresborough, amazing breakfasts, great service, really comfy and cosy room, ideally placed for local events (like the market) and for trips to Ripon & Harrogate. We'd recommend it to everyone.
Lovely stay at this hotel staff were all really friendly and helpful check in and out was so easy and quick, rooms cleaned daily, breakfast was great with so much choice . Staff knowledgeable about the area pointing us in the right direction for evening meals help with taxis and local attractions

Disliked: Staff & service
Not as good as described
8.9 superb ? I dont think so! There was no breakfast in fact no meals due to no chef. This is really a drinkers pub. The accommodation however was acceptable.
This is a lovely clean hotel. We were surprised that the rooms were at the back of the building in the converted barn, but the room we were given was really nice and very clean. TV was a bit small but we werent there to watch tv!
Breakfast was fab too. Thank you
The room was a good size but only a standard double bed. The mattress was a bit lumpy in places. The bathroom was a good size and although the shower was good the tile grout was quite black in places. The breakfast was excellent. An adequate room for one night
The staff were friendly, although a bit scruffy, but the service was good.
The bedroom was fine, and clean towels provided regularly but there was no cleaning done in the room or shower room during our stay. The shower was quite disgusting down to lack of cleaning over a period of time.
Wouldn’t stay there again. The photos on the website showed a better picture than the place actually was.
The breakfast was very good, we wanted a downstairs room so they put us in the disabled room it was ok but the sink was very small and the water pressure was very low
Lovely traditional pub, clean and spacious bedroom, breakfast you could choke a horse with. paid parking. but £1.60 for the weekend is a bargain. definitely go back there.
We booked this place based on all the positive reviews. However, we were very disappointed. We were not informed that there was no longer on site parking and had to pay to park in a lot blocks away. We were led to believe that food was available in the evening and this is not true. Our room was on the ground floor in the Carriage House with tables right outside our window. Both evenings there was "live" music that went on until midnight. The mattress on the bed was so bad, you could count the springs popping out. The shower temperature adjustment knob was stuck on full hot, but this still only gave us a tepid shower. Needless to say, our stay was not as advertised, and not worth the money.
