The room was very pleasant . Lovely outlook to the street. The hotel was very central across from the train station. Close to shops and other amenities. Had a delicious lunch and a jazz band played in the afternoon! Overall a very pleasant stay. Thank you!

Staff are good.The only thing that i come across that is really bad is the water kettle that has a bit of water in it which is dirty…brown/dark. If the cleaner is not looking after that, i would assume they are not cleaning the room to a good standard that they should.

The rooms and shared bathroom were genuinely nice and comfortable. Unfortunately our window’s pulley system was damaged so we couldn’t open our window and the car/truck noise from the street was fairly terrible and continuous all night. I imagine if your room is not on the street side, this wouldn’t be a problem though.

Not wheelchair friendly or for people with mobility issues There is no lift and lots of stairs to climb to the accommodation The bistro is great big meals the special tomato n bacon soup was ideal on a cold day hubby said the bangers n mash were excellent The open fires very welcome Staff are friendly and welcoming Manager Tony was welcoming and happy to listen to a minor drama Many railway workers and road crew were staying there during our stay they added to the fun Happy hour the bar gets quite busy but was friendly atmosphere The outdoor area would be lovely in summer Despite being on the highway the room was quiet the electric blanket very welcome

If You Like Noise Overnight

Please don't select a room at this hotel. This hotel is exclusively used by hotel employees after the bar closes at night. They have free reign of the entire hotel and engage in making all kinds of noise and disturbances. They couldn't care at all about paying customers interested in the concept of sleeping or relaxing.
