This is a great hotel for exploring Bizerte. The staff are super helpful, especially the reception staff Haikul and Mohammad. Housekeeping were amazing bringing extra towels whenever needed. The pool area is great for relaxing and there's a pool bar that has brilliant staff who serve a selection of beverages and food including authentic tunisian cuisine. The best thing about the hotel is the location. There is great access to local amenities, including the port which is only 10 minutes away.

The property is right on the ocean and offers a lovely pool and excellent restaurant. The first night, the air conditioner didn't work in my room and the manager quickly moved me into a suite. I was the first guest to stay there! It was a welcoming, spacious room(s) and the TWO air conditioners worked great. I had dinner at the poolside restaurant, which was pitched as a 'snack bar'. I had grilled fish with fresh baked bread, two different types of salad and French fries. It was accompanied by the obligatory harissa as well as ketchup and mayo. I had a bottle of water and a bottle of wine for < twenty bucks. The included breakfast was European - pastries, coffee, juice, tea. There are a few rough spots in the finishing of the rooms, but clean and comfortable. Well located for the old port, restaurants, medina and mosques. As a solo female traveler, I appreciated the feeling of safety and warm welcome.

The location of Hotel Sidi Salem is the best in Bizerte. You can walk anywhere and the beach is amazing. I recommend full board, because the traditional Tunisian food they serve is fresh, healthy, and an excellent example of Mediterranean cuisine. Be sure to ask for a croissant at breakfast! The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and there are people working security 24/7. The bungalow rooms are clean, have hot water, and are basic. Overall it's an excellent value for a hotel at this price point.
