I booked for the wrong night and your staff were so helpful sorting it out as I couldn’t have gone anywhere else as I was completely shattered after been involved in a car accident and close to tears they were so helpful

Nice break on Way of Life Pilgrim route.

A very comfortable and friendly hotel. The reception staff could have been clearer about the cost of breakfast for non-inclusive guests when we we checked in. There was a limited selection of hot drinks in our bedroom.

Lovely stay and fab breakfast.

We stayed here for 2 nights to see Kynren and Bishop Auckland. Our room was very nicely furnished with comfortable beds and fab bathroom. Very happy. Staff were very friendly and next time we visit we will use the additional cost spa facilities. Breakfast was delicious!

Have stayed the last couple of weeks and cant fault the place at all, very helpful and friendly staff, nice rooms - stayed in the cottage room last week and Deluxe room this week, cottage ones are fine and have everything you need.. Deluxe are nuch bigger with seperate seating area etc, well worth the extra if you want a treat...

We enjoyed our stay at manor house. Made the most of the pool, sauna and steam room facilities. The staff were friendly and the area was nice and quiet. The only complaint we would have is that the vegan options (we were really grateful that there were some) in terms of the main course felt over priced for what they were. The chocolate mousse pudding was delicious though!

Good Stay

Some areas of the The Manor House are in need of renovation. The room did not have a shower on the wall only a bath shower taps which was disappointing. Other than that everything else was good. The restaurant was lovely with nice decor, food was good. Breakfast was nice with plenty of choice. We did not try the spa but it looked nice and seemed to be very popular. I would stay there again.

Lovely but too much noise by other guests

Lovely hotel, only thing that let it down was the very squeaky floor boards which meant I was woke up quite a few times during the night and then at 5.30am when someone wasn’t too considerate and was banging about in the hallway. Did also have someone late at night chapping my door and running away. Let it down a bit unfortunately

Chargable gym access

Nice place but really disappointing to find out that i couldnt use the gym unless i wanted to pay an extra £20 which for 1 night is extortionate. The gym was the only reason i booked the hotel, possibly my fault as i didnt spot the charge in the small print nevertheless still not great.

Wonderful and atmospheric property with real character. Food was very good, especially breakfast. It was let down by untrained and inexperienced staff who literally had no idea of the job they were doing. No basic knowledge and not trained in waiting, serving or bar work. It was embarrassing at times to watch and listen. It really let the whole experience down. This could be a great place to stay with better and more professional management and staff training.

Enjoyable stay at the Manor House Hotel while visiting Croft Circuit recently. Friendly welcome, easy parking. Spacious room with an excellent bathroom. A small hiccup over the bill at checkout was quickly rectified. Highly recommended.

My introduction to this property was less than ideal. I don't think my room had received a thorough turn over from the past guest. Bath mat missing, didn't have the full suite of toiletries. All forgivable, until I wanted to go to bed. Only to find that it had hair (human) everywhere. The night porter kindly moved me to a very beautiful and newly refurbished room but i was disappointed that the manager made no effort to contact me to discuss. A little token of a voucher for the restaurant or spa or a discount on the room would have been appropriate in my opinion. Pity because the property is 500years old and beautiful.
