Lovely welcome from real family business. We didn't eat in the evening but the Tapas looks excellent. Breakfast was as your mother would make it. Room was large and comfortable. It is an old Georgian building so don't expect 4* but do expect a lovely stay in this unique Georgian Town with its quirky history and lovely streets. Will be back again soon.

We liked that it was in a good central location for our plans. We were disappointed that even after talking direct to the owner requesting a Gluten Free breakfast that this was not available and that although we arrived slightly late to breakfast all the bacon had been eaten. We found the stairs extremely dirty and rooms dusty.

Had a fantastic 4 night stay at Townsend House. The guesthouse is superb and in a great location, close to the town. Martin and Lorraine were brilliant hosts, they couldn’t do enough for us. The accommodation was spotless, with lovely decor and a comfortable bed. Highly recommended.

Very kind and friendly host. Great location in town and easy parking. Lovely breakfast Great tapas, but think bar food not Spanish tapas. Took our toddler, they were very accommodating.

Not a great stay overall

Not a great stay. Family room too small for a family of 4. You have to walk sideways to get to the side of some of the beds. The weather was warm and heat in room was unbearable. Found items of clothing left behind by previous guests. Owners were lovely. But unfortunately we needed breakfast at 7.45 and this could not be facilitated. They were good enough to reduce the price a little because of this.
