Hilton Homewood Suites UAB (the 2-room suites are awesome) is a very nice hotel within close driving proximity to shopping and restaurants. Check-in was extremely easy and because they were super busy and the luggage carts were all in use Ms Chris and Ms Sondra from Management volunteered to help us with all of our luggage. We were very much appreciative of their help!!!

This hotel is very clean. The bed was too hard for me, but I travel with a bed topper because I find most hotel beds are not soft enough for me. I will say the whole hotel is clean and comfortable the front desk staff is very helpful and kind. This was an emergency trip to UAB Hospital and we needed to be close to the hospital.

The hotel was clean inside. Outside of the hotel we encountered a homeless man urinating on the sidewalks right after we checked in. I was frightened for our safety because of this. There was no parking on site and we had to pay to park close by. The area we parked in was dark and smelled of urine.

The hotel is in a downtown location and you have to pay nightly for parking in their gated lot. There are bars and some restaurants within walking distance, but I would not consider them family friendly. The room was clean, but there were things that I personally missed, like a magnifying mirror, a removable shower head and a safe to secure some items. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was secure in that you had to have your key card to get in the building and up the elevators.

This was a dimond in the rough. very unexpected treasure. The rooms was very spacious and clean. Full size refrigerators. a two eye burner,dish washer and everthing you need for a stay away from home. It was in walking distance to everything. Looking forward to our next stay.
