Nice place, it could use some updating like painting, nothing major. I really enjoy the breakfast and evening reception but the alcohol was too cheap. Keep to beer and wine instead of cheap liquor. The staff at Ruth Chris was the best. Food and drinks were great and we really make good connections. It would have been nice if there were sidewalks in the area to walk to or restaurants and shops. All in all a great stay, I would totally recommend.

The staff was very accommodating and the room was very clean .However our room wasn't equipped with alot of normal requirements. I asked the desk and received these items. Garbage can, sheets/blankets for the fold out, shampo,ice bucket, drinking glasses, hair dryer, coffee maker (never received). Microwave didn't work received new one on 2nd day and the refrigerator barely worked.

The sink in my room was clogged up. They sent a maintenance worker to fix the issue. However upon returning to my room 6 hours later the sink had overflowed. Water covered the bathroom floor and the towels under the sink were soaking wet. There were also some dirty towels under the sink in the cabinet. The room didn't appear to have been properly cleaned due to other random areas that were not cleaned. Breakfast the next morning was also not what I have to come expect from Embassy/Hilton brand. They were running behind on omelets and were basically throwing them together and it showed in the way they looked and tasted. Breakfast ends at 10am and at 9:20am they had ran out of apple juice and orange juice. When asked if they were going to put some more juice out the response was "No, breakfast ends at 10 o'clock and we would have to fill the container back up". Instead suggested a Coke product or coffee to go with my breakfast. Just a bad experience all the way around.

We made our reservation months ago, checking in on 10/17. When we got to the hotel after a day of traveling we were exhausted. We had to interrupt the woman working the front desk from playing her game on her phone to check us in. She then tells us she doesn’t have us coming in until the next day. She then goes and gets some man, who told us that we were being moved to another hotel 15 minutes away for the night. The man never offered an apology, acted like he was doing us a favor by making us go to another hotel at 11pm. Someone at the hotel should have called to let us know that this was happening. When we got to the hotel they moved us to, the shower didn’t work. He told us we could check in at noon the following day, to call in the morning. So now we have to stop our vacation to pack back up and move back to the hotel we originally booked. We tried calling the hotel all morning and no one answered. We finally decided to go to the hotel at 12 and we were told the room wasn’t ready yet. They finally let us check in at 2. The next morning we go to take showers and there was what looked like feces on one of the towels. Absolutely disgusting. The hotel itself was very nice, but the customer service was lacking the first night (and I’m an HHonors member). The woman working on Saturday morning was very helpful. If we’re ever back in town I don’t know that we would stay there just from our experience and pretty much ruining the first day of our very short time in Birmingham.

Room was pleasant. The hotel was older but well kept. Bed was very comfy.
