This his need a refresh

Very good service from the staff and a good buffet for breakfast. The hotel is a worn out. The room need to be painted and the bathroom was really worn out, The toilet seat was broken and so was the sink. The doors and windows are are leaky, so if its windy, the doors and windows will “howls”. The photos of the rooms are not that you can expect

When this hotel was built in 1989 (I saw a dated cornerstone), it must have been a go-to location for company gatherings, conferences and other exciting events that needed to take place in a picture-perfect place like Bingen. Since that time, however, I cannot tell that it has been significantly updated (other than a new TV and faucet in the room). The place has charm, and it is pretty much the only formal hotel close to the Bingen hbf, but it could use an update. All of the staff were delightfully friendly; the breakfast was great (costs extra and goes until 12 p.m. on Sundays!); the beautiful restaurant is open early for breakfast and stays open until late at night; It is also beautiful and overlooks the Rhine. The service was excellent in every way. They held our bags for us while we sojourned around the town during the day and gave us water bottles upon our return. We paid a bit extra to get a room with a balcony and river view. The balcony did, technically, overlook the river, but it was on the bottom floor, and we couldn't really see anything. There is an option to get book a room that overlooks the river but does not have a balcony. Based on my visit to the property, that seems like the best option.

I thought that being part of NH this hotel would meet a minimum standard of quality. Unfortunately the room didn’t age well and needs remodeling and maintenance, especially in the bathroom. Very disappointing. The view on the Rhine River was spectacular though.

Bien placé entre les voies ferrées et le bord du Rhin. Accès directe à la promenade au bord du fleuve. Coté entretien et propreté, on est loin de la qualité allemande. Une première chambre avec un lavabo plus que fèlé. Changement de chambre et de gros doute sur la propreté. Des traces de tartre et des poils sur le rebord extérieur du bac à douche.... Des traces de chocolat?? sur une taie d'oreiller. Les tables et le sol de la salle de restaurant moyennement propres.... Je n'y retournerai pas

Eine Renovierung der Zimmer wäre dringend nötig! Die Einrichtung ist total veraltet und ein Bad mit hoher Badewanne ist für ältere Menschen nicht benutzbar. Außerdem fährt in der Nacht ein Güterzug alle paar Minuten vorbei (gefühlt durchs Zimmer).

Great location and views, amenities not to par

Location on the Rhein was great, view from room was exceptional. No air conditioning in this hotel, on summer day room was over 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Fan was in the closet. Bathroom sink and toilet was in very poor condition, shower was so small you could barely move in it.

Balkonen var ikke hyggelig, fx var der ikke et bord. Vi kunne i øvrigt ikke have noget åbent, da der var udendørskoncert lige udenfor. Det ville have været godt at vide.

It's a little dated but beds are comfortable and clean. And although it was 90°F, an open window and the supplied fan kept the room reasonably cool! Nice people at the front desk, too. Perfectly good for a night or two!

Much better than the reviews suggest

I'm not sure what all the complaints are about regarding this hotel. Maybe the rooms differ in quality and updating, but ours was fine. It was certainly a huge step up from the traditional accommodation typical in these small towns. The location was great, too. My only criticism is the lack of air conditioning (standing fan is provided) and the crazy price for breakfast, which we obviously declined (who would pay 20 euros per person for breakfast in Germany?!)

Hatte ein Zimmer mit Aussicht auf den Rhein gebucht gegen Aufpreis, die Aussicht aus dem 2.Stock war allerdings dann auf einen Innenhof mit dem Rhein kaum sichtbar. Die Garage war angeblich bereits belegt bei meiner Ankunft um 16 uhr, so das ich auf einem öffentlichen Parkplatz gegen Gebuhr parken musste
