Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
Beautiful landscape and very clean. The internet is very spotty and there are no tvs. Atleast not in our room. However, we were not there to be online. We truly enjoyed the amazing view and quaint atmosphere. We will definitely return.
Beautiful location and the space is quaint. The cabins are so cozy, and there are several beautiful spots to see the sunrise, sunset and all the stars. Dreamy space, and close to several trails.
A hidden gem that is a pragmatic abode for couples or individual travelers that want to spend most of their time exploring the vast beauty of the central coast but have a clean and cozy place to rest up. One would be hard pressed to find a better view!

Disliked: Amenities
The view is breathtaking! The room is nice and clean and the bed is comfortable. There is no staff on site, there is no restaurant. However, there isn’t a tv in the room and there isn’t any phone service. Make sure you bring your own food because the nearest place is 40 minutes away. We had a good stay, it was peaceful, quiet and relaxing. Thankfully we had a cooler full of food.
Wonderful location to see part of the magic California coast line and awesome coves in Big Sur. The manager and the cleaning lady were incredibly helpful and kind. Cozy rooms.
The Lodge is situated at the side of a cliff overlooking the sea. The view itself is quite nice and the property is very quiet and relaxing. The room, for the fee charged, I expected to be more of a boutique inn type of experience but it’s essentially a motel. Amenities are pretty spartan so don’t expect nice bath products, fancy sheets, robes, or anything warm for breakfast. We booked a family room which got us a double bed and a pull out couch. The bed was very squeaky and noisy and the carpet was like what you’d find in an outdoor space. I think the place has hit a string of bad luck…a recent fire has destroyed part of the property and a landslide a couple miles up US1 has blocked all traffic from the North…so perhaps it’s limping along a bit. There is no on-site staff so it functions a bit like an Airbnb.
The management did call us in advance to warn us about the landslide and the lack of nearby dining options and that was appreciated.
Outstanding location, beautiful drive from Monterey if you go through Jolon, you drive through the national forests. Stop in Gorda for a meal and pick up wine/snacks and then settle into the environment. Cozy Cabin like rooms, with the waves racing to the shore below the cliffs.
Ambiance ;)
Beautiful property and helpful staff. Such a wonderfully remote and quiet space to enjoy the heart of Big Sur in Lucia.
If you are looking for quiet beauty to relax and reflect this is the place! Not far from other resorts and restaurants. Amazing location and view. Knowledgeable and extremely friendly staff.
There is no words to describe the area. The property is on a cliff overlooking a very breathtaking ocean view. The trip to the property is an adventure itself. Big Sur is amazing. The property would be the best ending to unwind. Advice to those who are booking, please ensure your email has been received before you go. Note the lock box combination and room number from that email. There is no cell signal in most of the locations in Big Sur even to Carmel so download the maps. There is instructions in the signage at the property entrance in case you need to contact the property manager. There is no check in on property site so make sure you get your room key combo and room number info. If ever you need to contact them, you would need to connect to public wifi and pay the fee before you could call as again there is no signal. If you have prepared well, then this is the paradise that you would be very happy you have discovered. This place is beyond amazing. I was a solo traveler on Memorial Day weekend. It was an amazing retreat for me. I stayed overnight. Enjoy and safe travels.
