Difficult reservation system, Communication by text only. The links were troublesome for confirmation. Very clean, spacious, disappointing getaway with heavy traffic on Big Bear Blvd The gas fireplace was not the same as a wood-burning fireplace. Will be sure to get a cabin off Big Bear Blvd. next visit .

When I arrived I was a bit discouraged by the exterior & thought I made a bad choice. However, the inside room was fantastic. Bery clean, comfortable, & pleasant. I got a great night sleep & would totally return!!

We enjoyed our stay at Cathy's Cottages; it was everything we wanted. The king-size bed and jacuzzi tub were perfect for our stay as a couple. Room was clean and comfortable. Wifi and cell service were excellent as well.

I had a fantastic stay! The customer service was top-notch. The reservation manager, Tanya, was so kind and went above and beyond to accommodate my guest and I. The cottage was cozy and comfortable, making it easy to relax after hours of traveling up the mountain. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Big Bear!"

It was a quiet centrally located clean. The Jacuzzi tub was great roomie. Everything was good except the two chairs were really rickety. Just need new ones. They have a great little refrigerator with the freezer part separate on top that keeps even ice cream cold. The check process was pretty flawless. Just need to make sure You contact them before you stay so you can get the code sent back to you the day of and then when the room is ready, they will let you know. It worked well for me.

Very cozy cabin. Had everything you could need. Fireplace, microwave, refrigerator , coffee pot and dishes for 2. Ceiling fan, a must for me, and a cooler. Central location to everything in Big Bear.

The cottage is really run down. When I arrived I locked the door and then the lock broke so I couldn’t get out again. I was stuck in the cottage for more than 1.5 hours until maintenance arrived who broke into the window to open the door from the inside. I was not able to close the door afterwards and felt quite unsafe. The bed was so uncomfortable and I could not sleep the whole night. They offered me 15usd discount but for a 150usd stay this felt like a joke compared to what I had to go through.

We had a fantastic weekend in Big Bear and our room at Cathy's Cottages was very cute with a separate mudroom. The only downside was the pillows. They felt like a block or cardboard. I had to go buy pillows so that we could sleep. BTW - there is only ONE place in Big Bear and Big Bear City that sold pillows - Haus & Home. Would stay here again, but bring my own pillow.

Old with a strong mildew smell. I understand it’s supposed to have a rustic, mountain feel to it but desperately needs a “makeover.” Cottage needs better lighting. Very dreary, depressing and dark inside. Curtains and fake flowers arrangement need to be removed. They are only collecting dust. Plug outlets are so old, that plugs kept falling off. Bed was decent (memory foam) but after 3rd night, my back was sore. Jacuzzi was the only thing good.

My boyfriend and I came to Big Bear for a quick getaway trip for a few days. This place was literally the most perfect place we could've chosen. All I really wanted was a fireplace and a hot tub, and this was above and beyond. Honestly i thought the place was going to be pretty small, but the pictures don't do it justice! It's actually a huge studio, with lots of nice little features, like a heating light in the bathroom, fireplace timer, fast heater, etc. I could go on and on. We absolutely loved it and our vacation was incredible. Huge props to the staff, especially Amanda who helped me check in. Everything is pretty close by, and our first night it snowed a bit and we were worried about a snow storm. We were able to find dining easily and the next couple days we drove back and forth to shop and eat and come back and relax. Awesome place, thank you so much!!!

We did not like that the blinds in the bathroom, kitchen, and the living space near the jacuzzi had huge gaps enabling any passerby to look into our rooms and see us. I had to use our bath towels and dish towels to cover the windows. The shear curtains could allow anybody to see through. The top of the front door has a see through window in the door, again allowing anybody to peep into our room. I did not feel safe, especially for my wife. The shower had an uncovered work area not yet finished. It was a beautiful place, but I think more needs to be put in place to make it a safe place. Maybe the home keeping and maintenance workers have the holes to get free shows of the tenants using the jacuzzi, shower, and bed.
