A nice spot to stay whilst visiting Bicester Village for the weekend. Restaurant, although not having many choices for main courses was great. The food was tasty and good portion sizes.
Prima verblijf. Vriendelijke mensen, Lekker eten. Kamer (schoon, ruim en compleet) net gerenoveerd; nu badkamer nog (in progress). Langs doorgaande weg dus je hoort wel auto's voorbij rijden.
Good pub to stay in. Unfortunately we were there on a Sunday night and no food was available. Similarly on Monday morning the normal breakfast was unavailable and coffee, toast and yogurt is not worth £9.99. Only one reluctant member of staff available on Monday morning 🤔 Otherwise, a place to go back to if the hospitality was improved
The hotel was well situated for our Motogp trip to Silverstone. Maybe the only thing that need improving is the traffic calming. It is a very busy road the hotel is on with large lorries and cars speeding past till the early hours. But that's not the hotels fault.
The photographer must have been very good because the room did not look like it did in the photos. Also no phone signal at all even the WiFi wasn’t the best
Very nice stay. Food excellent, staff very helpful and always cheerful. Rooms large and comfortable and quiet although situated on main road. Will stay again when in the area.
Arrived at about 9pm and we were checked in by a friendly receptionist. Our room was off the courtyard. It was very small, and we didn't think was priced accordingly. We were disappointed but as we were tired and only staying the one night we just went to bed.
The next morning we were shocked to see the state of the room. Dirty with signs of long term build up of dust/cobwebs almost everywhere. The bathroom was also dirty with a discarded bottle top on the floor, and plastic film, In the bedroom we noticed what appeared to be a blood test strip on the floor.
We would say that the room/bathroom had not been properly cleaned for a long time. Build up of mould around the bath shower area. We couldn't bring ourselves to use the show so left without showering! Furniture not moved to vacuum the carpet, which apparently had been changed within the last year, not in our opinion, as it was dirty and stained.
The breakfast itself was fine, but after eating cereal we still hadn't seen anyone so had to go looking in order to place the order for a hot breakfast.
The bar and dining rooms looked very nice but were in need of a deep clean.
On checking out we spoke to the receptionist who said the issues would be addressed and we were offered a drink in compensation. Which we thought was a poor gesture. It would appear from speaking to the head housekeeper that there had been a number of similar complaints.
That there was no food on Sunday apart from cooked breakfast and on Monday morning no cooked breakfast.
Did not know this when I made a non refundable booking
The hotel was beautiful! Our room was spacious, elegantly furnished and extremely comfortable
The food was outstanding! Gary, the chef, was brilliant!!!
After dinner we sat in the sunshine in the inner courtyard and chatted to other guests
All-in-all a wonderful stay!!
An absolutely shocking experience from the rude abrupt check-in to the standard and facilities in our room to the food that was available. This property does not in any way shape or form reflect what is shown on their web page. Very disappointed! The only upside being that we were only staying one night! Never again.
We booked this hotel as it was a reasonable distance from Blenheim Palace, where we attended a concert. The suite we were allocated was spacious, clean and full of character, not to mention some welcome beverages and biscuits provided. There was only one negative point and that was the noise coming from the windows, as it was on a main road and we were woken early by ambulance sirens. Secondary glass panels have been fitted, however, due to the age of the property I presume updating the property with double glazing would not be allowed?! It is what it is and this did not spoil our stay. The staff were also friendly and helpful. The hotel is also a short drive to the town centre.
It’s a beautiful country pub hotel. The staff blow very hot and cold one min your best friend the next min your in the way, that’s a shame. The food is fine, nothing special but good enough. The rooms are BRILLIANT! For a one or two nights, overall, very good but not outstanding. Good value for money.

we were in room 1.
The bath is raised 6 to 9 inches off the floor, thus making it dangerous when climbing in to and out of, and because it is raised there is not enough height to stand up in the shower. My head was hitting the ceiling so the only way to rinse your hair was to bend down, not easy at 74 years old.
Bar closed at 10pm instead of 11pm as I was told, after a hard 24 hours travelling and encountering a few other problems along the way. I returned back to the hotel to settle down for evening and a little refreshment at 10-30pm, only to find the bar closed, another guest informed me the bar closed at 10pm and he'd actually had the same experience as me. I asked 2 of staff members as to why the bar was closed and they acted as they didn't know. As far as I'm concerned I experienced no hospitality in my view.
