Great location, quiet, value for money and hotel bed/mattress was comfortable, however it was on a spant, as in the top of the bed was sloping backwards which i guess is due to the age of the place.
Staff friendly, bed comfy, but slight little things like paint on curtains, low pressure shower and sloping bed, but for the money it is honestly spot on

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
After looking at some negative reviews we were a little apprehensive but have to say we’re very pleased, very pleasant staff, great central location, a very old quirky building and great value for money compared to other establishments in the town
After having trouble with my key card I rang and with their help they upgraded me to another room.
Good service and excellent room.

Liked: Cleanliness
Hotel not staffed, which I was aware of from previous reviews, but it didn’t cause me any issues as I got a text with door codes etc.
my room faces the back of the hotel and was very quiet and also very large. The hotel feels like it would have been very fancy and decadent back in its day, but old fashioned decor but it’s part of the charm.
Tea, coffee and biscuits in the room . Free car parking on site which is great for being in the town centre
All and all fine for a one night stay
Although the room was dated it was clean amd tidy. The reception had no staff on after 9pm this wasnt a problem for us. Card entry into rooms. Well worth the price paid for out overnight stay to attend a wedding
I have sent a complaint to the hotel as it advertised disabled accessibility and it has no lift and steps and stairs to all the rooms
We could not stay my husband got injured as the wheelchair could not get past the bath i wnt a refund but will have to take this further as i have had no reply

Hotel locked and looked closed on arrival at 3.30pm when front desk advertised as open at 3pm.My husband unable to get in .and website said previous Best Western Hotel closed..My husband thought a scam.
I phoned hotel number from home and was told access was by a key pad and I would now be given a pass number
By this time my husband had moved on and booked at another hotel
Nowhere in the information is access by key pad and there was ample opportunity for this information and a pass number to be sent by email as 3 emails received about check in the previous evening . I have written to the hotel for an explanation and refund but no response

Website states 3 to 8 reception.
Received a textat 2.15 saying Today is Self check in.with room.no and a box code outside room...
On arrival front reception door open no one about ..like a ghost hotel...
Eventually found room 15.. 2 nd floor lots stairs...on way up 3 FIRE DOORS.ALL Wedged OPEN...A cleaners vacum cleaner and Hose left on a landing next to a Fire Door.a Trip.Hazard..
I text to them.i was not happy with.security. as anyone can just walk in the place ..was told the.front door would be locked after hours and given a code..
But no staff there just a number to ring. Terrible sevice.
We.asked for a quite room.and was given one on top floor right on main road. Poor nights sleep..
The hotel was obviously not full.and had rooms at the back...
The actual room was ok but not the service overall..
We went out on returning in the evening 9 ish. The Front door still unlocked..The FIRE DOOORS STILL WEDGED OPEN.VAC STILL ON LANDIND Obviousley since afteroon no.staff.about..
They had left leaving the Hotel Unsafe and the Guests.vunerable.
Disgracefull..
I personally unwedged the 3 Fire doors and closed them..
Disgusted by the Hotels lack of care..
