We had a fantastic stay for four nights with our two kids! The hotel has a fantastic location- very close to the main square, shops, restaurants, and the river (but without being too chaotic or noisy). The staff was very nice and helpful. The communal drink area is very nice to be able to access all day. I also appreciated having laundry and ironing facilities. The only tiny downside was that the dryer didn't really work- things were still wet after 2+ hours. All in all, we had a great time and can't wait to come back!

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at Bãren. Extremely helpful staff, clean room and bath, and good location. There was no traffic noise at night. We appreciated the coffee and sparking water service in the lobby. All in all, an excellent value. It rained a bit when we were there. We found we could walk to the railway station without getting wet! A definite plus. When we needed an umbrella for our walkabout, the staff were happy to supply now.

We loved the great location! We walked to most attractions within 10 minutes. The several times a week markets is right around corner. It has washing and drying machines for people to use for free. It is very quiet at night and safe! Breakfast is very good with dishes carefully selected and prepared. Hotel provides free coffee and tea and great taste ice water all day. We will return to this hotel again and highly recommend this hotel. Bern is full of history and culture—from the Middle Ages to Einstein and beyond! Well worth visiting!

First of all I can not recommend the breakfast buffet. The Buffet area is so small and crowded and very poorly prepared. I can not even find a simple banana or apple. The location is conveniently located. However the rooms are very small and there are also unexpected steps in the room.
