The breakfast options were amazing and there was a great variety. The rooms and the bathrooms were clean. The location is pretty good. A bit of a walk to the metro but not too bad!

I brought my bicycle and it was a good and affordable way to get to all places in the city centre within a little more than 30 minutes. - Good breakfast, yet limited choice for vegetarians.

Never again to this hotel

The location of the hotel is really boring and not easy to reach by public transport., almost no restaurants in the area. There should be clearer instructions how to get to the nearest tram stop and a warning that Ruschke Strasse changes name in the next corner to Vulkan Strasse. Not realizing this I got lost the first time I used tram to get to the hotel.

We checked in around 9pm all was fine the lady on reception was lovely and even told us where the local shop was across the road and what time it was open to. About 10.40pm kids were in bed and I took a shower. All of a sudden there was poo and toilet roll coming up the shower waste and onto my feet. I screamed and jumped out the shower and washed my feet in the sink and wiped with tissue the toilet and flushed which then made the issue worse as all the toilet started coming up the shower. I got dressed and went to reception which I got another room at 11pm at night I had to get the kids up and pack up everything up and go up 2 floors. The next morning this room the sink was backing up when brushing teeth and took about 20mins to drain. There is clearly a plumbing issue at the hotel. I didn't have a wash after that as was scared to with the sink backing up incase the same thing happened. I asked for a refund and they said a refund of breakfast was the best they could do this was after multiple back and forth. I have taken videos of the state of the bathroom

Nice Place

The hotel was nice. The breakfast was good. The staff was courteous and helpful. Just be aware if you stay here that Lichtenberg isn’t a particularly nice part of Berlin. If you drive a car here, be prepared to have a challenge finding parking nearby. Also, one of the nights in May that we were there was a Saturday and it was warm in spite of the rain, so we had to keep the window open. Our room faced the street and every 20-30 minutes there were first responders’ sirens all night long. There were also people making a lot of noise and smoking under our window. One other thing is that there wasn’t anyplace for my daughter and I to put our clothes for our three nights, so we had to keep everything in our suitcase. It was kind of inconvenient for us Americans, but that’s the German in hotels. The hotel is a few blocks from the Stasi Museum, which is a cool place to visit if you like history, and one block further is an U-Bahn station, and the brown line goes right to the Brandenburg Gate. It’s about a 20-minute ride. There are also a couple of supermarkets close by, including one across the street from the hotel.

Pro: Gutes Frühstück, freundliches Personal und annehmbare Preise für die Unterkunft und die Getränke und Essen. Contra: Das Hotel hat seine besten Zeiten hinter sich. Von 2 Aufzügen war einer außer Betrieb, also lange Wartezeiten. Teppiche in den Zimmern fleckig. Keine Minibar oder Kühlschrank im Zimmer. Duschkabine noch mit einem Vorhang statt Kabinentür. Matratze war zu weich und man spürte stellenweise die Federn. Fazit: War für dieses mal okay, aber ich würde es nicht noch einmal buchen.
