Hotel seemed a little worn. There was an overwhelming flowery smell when walking in. Even with the limited dining/ meal option, the sirloin steak was the best I have had in along time. Rich in flavor and so tender could cut with a butter knife.

This hotel is clean, quiet and comfortable. Perfect for 1 night before a flight home. We used the gym which was excellent. There is a gas station and fast food options within a quick walk. Breakfast was included and was great. The parking was also free which was nice

Great hotel for families

Super hotel. Went out of their way to make it easy for our family. Food was very good and the staff very friendly. Free parking in large lot in front of hotel. Will stay there again!

We were able to check in at 10:00 which was nice. We did have to switch rooms though by evening as the door would not open on a consistent basis and the toilet wouldn’t flush easily. They were very nice about it and even gave us an upgraded room for the hassle. I would stay there again if I came to Bergen. It is 5 minutes from the airport!

Stayed here only 8 hrs as we had a very early flight. The guy at the desk was very impatient with me trying to figure out the room number he wrote. His 1s looked like 7s so I went to the wrong room and when I pointed out that his 1s looked like 7s he was very short and rude. The room was too warm with no way to regulate the temperature. They regulate the whole hotel from one thermostat. That made our short night a bit miserable.

Close but disappointing

We chose this place because of the airport shuttle advertised. There has been NO shuttle for 2 yrs! The light rail is close but hugely inconvenient — requires climbing a big hill and several flights of stairs. Taxis are pricey. We wish we would have stayed at the Clarion Airport. Also, front desk should have told us airport gates don’t open until two hours before flights. (We asked.)

We chose this hotel as hotels were too expensive in Bergen with a car. The reviews for the hotel were very good. We were able to use the washing machine for free which was fantastic. It is down in the gym area and a bit hard to find but worth it. Bring your own detergent.We knew the hotel was near the train station so we could train into Bergen. Ask reception for details to walk to the nearest station. It is very close and the rail service excellent. Tickets are registered on your credit card or sent as sms. We are seniors so the cost was about Aus $4 each way. The only downside with the hotel was breakfast was very busy as there were lots of bus groups. Go around 8am or later and you will miss the feeding frenzy! We bought some salad etc for dinner rather than eat at the hotel at the supermarket Meny in Bergen which is near the main bus station opposite the library. It is a really good supermarket and wine store is next door. We moved to Eidfjord after 2 days at the Thon and the hotel location made an easy exit for us as didn't need to go near Bergen. We would recommend this hotel as a very comfortable stay with lots of free parking. The train ride is around 40mins but time goes quickly and the trains are more like light rail- very modern.

Chosen for location, but superior in every way

We booked the Thon Hotel Bergen Airport for its location near the airport, but it proved to be one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in during our years of travel in Europe. We booked two rooms for two nights. The rooms were nicely furnished in a tasteful, modern style, and they were beautifully maintained. Please convey my compliments to the housekeeping staff! There were some nice touches in the rooms, such as umbrellas and shoe horns: perhaps these were small details,but they reflected the service-oriented focus of the management.The bathroom was modern, efficient, and spotlessly clean. There were plenty of light sources in the room, which is not always true of hotel rooms.The breakfast buffet was the most impressive breakfast we had ever had in a hotel: nothing was missing from the menu,and the food was absolutely delicious. All of the staff members of the hotel, specifically including the dining room, were professional, efficient, and genuinely friendly: whenever I asked for information or assistance, it was as if there was nothing in the world that they would rather be doing than attending to my needs. Ruben at the front desk was especially helpful and courteous.Thon Hotel Bergen Airport could be used as a textbook example of how a superior hotel should be designed, managed, and operated. My family and I enjoyed our visit to your hotel immensely. My thanks and compliments to the entire staff of your hotel!
