A really nice place to stay within Cape Breton. The rooms were spacious included a separate living area with couch, table, dining space. Well maintained. Considering the remote nature of the location The staff were kind enough to provide free water bottles. The location is beautiful, truly feels like far away from the city life.

We had a 2 night stay at the Sunset Island Resort. It has great potential but requires some TLC. Views were spectacular. Rooms were clean. Felt room rates were a little high for what you got for a room.

We had a good one night stay. The beach and ocean being so close was the best part. We were disappointed that the restaurant on site was closed. The condo was clean and comfortable but I would suggest a new mattress in the John Cabot number 22. You kind of roll into the centre. Beautiful location!

We only stayed one night but we wished we stayed here at least two. It was a whole suite with a kitchenette and a separate bedroom. There is a nice porch with chairs to sit and enjoy the ocean and we loved the walk along the beach at sunset. FYI: It looks like there used to be a restaurant and spa which are not there anymore.

We were on vacation in cape Breton this was our on the spot booking . One thing I must emphasize location , location !! . We saw beautiful sunset . Property is very outdated needs lot of work . There is damp smell when you walk in the property . TV needs to be replaced very old all the stations are already recorded , no live channels to watch .

This place was PERFECT for us. Lots of room. The rooms were well appointed - lots of small amenties that make life easier. Full kitchen. A separate room away from the bedroom. TVs were nice. Kitchen was well appointed. I'm struggling to find a negative. The only thing I can find is that the mattresses need a bit of an upgrade. They aren't great. And, yet, it's still a 5-star for us based on how well the place was appointed, the location and the comfort.

The waterfront views and location are the best things about this property. However, the unit is very dated and doesn’t match the price. The furnishings need updating, the A/C only worked by plugging it in or unplugging it, the Wi-Fi stopped working after the first day, and we had no hot water until maintenance reset the system. With some renovations and better maintenance, this could be a great place to stay.

We stayed for two nights with two teens and two dogs. The property was conveniently located to explore the Cheticamp side of Cabot Trail. The views of the water were also beautiful. The downside was the lack of air conditioning, the many dead (and live insects in the bathroom) and the price, which was quite high for what you get - no restaurant on site, no daily housekeeping, the aforementioned insects and subpar cleanliness.

Nice location, lots of space. I looked around thoroughly in the space for cleaning issues as we were travelling with kids. We did find mice droppings in the cutlery drawer and other kitchen drawers which means a fail. Under beds, couch etc filthy. Any accomodation needs frequent deep cleaning and it looks like the are skipping this. Rodent issues need to be addressed. General cleanliness is below standard and needs to be taken care of. Otherwise a nice property.

I paid almost $500 for the night...last minute booking but I expected much more than this. The place has a dingey odour, rusted doors, decor and finishing from the 80s and not in the cute citchy kinda of way. The place was dusty and clearly hasn't been deep cleaned in fory. To top it off there was blood stains on the bedsheets and on the duvet. The guy at the office brought me new sheets only after asking 'how much blood?'when he arrived he handed the sheets to me to put on, I had to ask him to do it. After he left I turned over the duvet on the other bed only to find more blood stains...my skin was crawling, I covered the beds in blankets we brought in the car for the roadtrip and got outta there first thing in the morning. Very disappointed

Unfortunately this stay fell short. The room felt rundown, old TV in bedroom, and had a persistent musty smell throughout our visit that we couldn't shake, even with the window open and AC blasted. It was disappointing given the price paid. There are better options nearby for a cheaper price.

Be aware- our room had a rodent issue during our stay There were mice in our room. I was very dissatisfied to see whwn we called to advise of the issue your staff had no remorse. We paid close to $500 for a one night stay I expected more for that price. It is apparent you knew of the mice issue as we found a mouse trap behind the sofa I sent a message directly to the property with no response. Thank you
