The staff was exceptionally hospitable and friendly. The hotel is within walking distance of several nice restaurants and bars, and there is a convenient store nearby. I was very happy with the hotel staff, and the price was very reasonable.

Nothing but great things to say about this place and the hosts/staff. Despite some of my own challenges getting to Belize, Red Hut was very responsive in my queries and concerns. Airport pickup was easy, food was great and reasonably priced, and the local advice was good. Luis is happy to answer any and all questions and will work to make your stay easy and comfortable.

The Host and their Staff are friendly, accommodating and keep the place clean. We’ve stayed there many times over the past 9 years and have always been pleased with the meals, accommodations, and their desire to please! Will be back again in November.

Wonderful find

My fiancé and I stayed here for a quick over night stay while waiting for our friends to land the next day. They have an option for them to pick you up from the airport for a flat fee that is cheaper than the taxis. They’re about a 15/20 minute ride from the airport. Julia picked us up and was very friendly and polite. Gave us a bunch of recommendations while also informing us everything that they offered in house. Breakfast, dinner, coffees. Breakfast and dinner are an extra charge but, they’re very reasonably priced. They have an in house chef Luis and he’s fantastic. Super friendly and very talkative. We also booked a little hour long car tour that Luis took us on. Showed us a lot of Belize city and was very educational. Overall our stay was extremely pleasant and would 100% recommend them for a 1 night stay or a multiple day stay. Definitely when we return we will be staying with them both again.

Management: Julia is an excellent manager! Polite Professional Organized Good listener Offers correct advice about transportation, foid options, and pricing. Very helpful Very Knowledgeable! Julia keeps the place well maintained Supervises the staff. House keeping excellent Offers polite and concerned for the guests! Honest Hardworking Rooms: Floors clean Bathroom: Clean Shower: Hot, cold. Food options available Tours offered Pick up and drop off available ALL my needs were met promptly. Julia is the star of the Red Hut operation. Beer is available at cost.

The staff, especially Luis, was wonderful. The place was clean. HOWEVER, from the advertisement, I expected a community kitchen. There was none. I expected them to serve food, but there was none the first 2 day. You could not book an excursion, so I had to go to another hotel. There are no lockers for hostel beds. There are no hooks in the bathroom or shower to hang towels or clothes. There is no toilet except the one shared by the 8 bed dorm. There is no lock to the door of the hostel dormitory. Anyone can walk in, right off the street. I cannot recommend this for a hostel. The private rooms might be acceptable.

I have nothing good to say about this place. Dirty, bad bed, employee who only wants to take advantage, overcharge a lot for a trip to the airport that is not even 9 km. It was a terrible experience.
