A lovely old hotel in a convenient position. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room and en-suite were very clean. A good selection of tea etc. Very nice having single rooms. I will definitely stay there again.

Delightful stay at the George. A real olde worlde hotel with lots of character. Staff really welcoming. Rooms extremely clean and comfortable. Decoration a bit old but in line with the type of hotel, so no issues. Lovely breakfast and really enjoyed the evening meal. No hesitation in recommending.

Great place to stay for a gig at the Cheese and Grain. Central location. Staff really friendly and helpful. Evening dinner menu was varied and bar had a nice atmosphere. Fantastic value on a true English inn (reception at end of the bar) in the centre of a quaint market town. very spacious and clean bed and bath rooms, generous made to order breakfasts included, exceedingly nice and responsive staff. The George could justify twice the price the bathroom walls were fixed and the practice of storing linen bags in the hallways was rethought. Given the low rate, not the worst problems.
