Hotel Metropol was perfect for our quick stay in Basel. It is located steps from the train station. The staff is helpful. When we arrived before check in to ask if we could store our luggage while sightseeing, they said our rooms were ready and allowed us to check in early. How nice! We were able to walk all over the city from our hotel. We enjoyed our one-night stay here. We were not able to have breakfast at the hotel as we had an early departure the next morning. We would recommend staying here.

Great holiday base

Hotel staff were friendly, good size room with kettle and fridge. Decent breakfast. Great location, 10 minute walk to centre and around the corner from station provifing a good base for easy access to other swiss locations.

Close to transport links and good breakfast.

Hotel was close to the train station and bus back to the airport. Breakfast room on the top floor was good for choice of food and views. One of our rooms had a strange smell when we arrived but it faded over time.

A really good stay. The station is in a really good location near the station and a minute walk from the tram. Staff were really friendly and everything was neat and comfortable.

A very pleasant stay

A lovely hotel - we made several minor requests of reception staff and they were fulfilled cheerfully and promptly. Room was clean and comfortable and the hotel is very near the railway station and other transport links.

Ideal place for proximity to the train station and the room is very comfortable. No staff at reception which makes it feel less secure. Check in is self service but easy. No Wi-Fi in rooms, only in lobby.
